DaD Faculty Fellow Abigail Saguy featured on Spectrum News
Dialogue Across Difference Faculty Fellow Abigail Saguy, Professor of Sociology, was recently featured on Spectrum News for her innovative use of AI software to promote dialogue. She was the first in the country to integrate the Sway program, which helps her undergraduate students have productive conversations about topics on which they disagree, into the classroom. This AI software pairs students with opposing perspectives and facilitates written dialogue, effectively reducing the tension often present in face-to-face discussions. Prof. Saguy complements this AI with in-person roundtable discussions, demonstrating that artificial intelligence and traditional classroom methods can work hand in hand. Watch the full conversation here, and explore how the Dialogue Across Difference Initiative and the Teaching and Learning Center support faculty fellows in this important work.
