Bio:
Margaret Shih is the Neil H. Jacoby Chair in Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where she has been a faculty member since 2008. Her research focuses on diversity in organizations, especially how social identity, stereotypes, prejudice, and bias shape behavior and outcomes in workplaces. Before UCLA, she served on the faculty at the University of Michigan and worked at the RAND Corporation. Dr. Shih holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University and a B.A. in psychology from Stanford University.

Her research focuses on the effects of diversity in organizations. She recently published a paper on the influence of political polarization on people’s perceptions of threats to democracy.
